18 and newly diagnosed Stage IV Colon CancerI am only 18 yrs old. I got very sick 5/5/07 with vomiting and diarrhea for aprox 12 hours. I was still feeling ill and went to the dr 3 days later. Blood was drawn and two days later I was rushed to the hospital for 2 units of packed cells. I was extremely anemic. The dr did a rectal exam and found blood. I had a colonoscopy the following Wednesday.

Re: 18 and newly diagnosed Stage IV Colon CancerIt sounds like you have a very smart mom and are lucky to have her as your number one advocate. She's so right to not just take a doctor or nurses' word for something and to look elsewhere for answers. But here's my question and it's really for your mom - how did you know where to look? I've been looking for hours and hours and keep finding the same information on this type of cancer - I want real specifics not generalizations. Darling, I wish the very best for you and your family.
