IBS-- diagnosed by defaultI'm 40 year old female, I had irregular period and spotting for 30 days, so when I got this pelvic pain, I thought for sure it was obgyn related. My family doctor said I need to see a gastro doctor, I thought he was nuts. I seen an obgyn & early february, I had d&C tubal, novasure & laproscopy to look for this pelvic pain. During the follow up my obgyn said I check you & it's a gastro problem.
I did see a gastro doctor, my pain is on my left side between my belly button & hip. One doctor even thought it was a hernia, but it's not. It doesn't move, it is a specific area. My Gastro Doc said we're going to assume it's ibs & treat you for it & re evaluate in 6 weeks, but I got my first menstrual cycle after my surgery the pain greatly increased, I went to my family doc to tell him it's acting up, he said call my obgyn. I did call, The nurse reminded me that my doc said it's not a female issue. I wish I could get past the nurse & talk with my doc. So I called my family Doc & told him, he has to talk to my obgyn, because I can't get past the nurse. My gastro doc put me on fiber to drink & a pill levsin. I don't find this pain to increase with food. I do notice it worse at night & it's more of a constant pain. However the last 2 day's I'm feeling OK, but tired. So I'm searching for answers. & wondering what things I should pay particular attention to. my follow up appointment with my gastro doctor is the end of this month. So I have time to experiment & see what happens. At this point I just need to wait for my follow up Are IBS problems related to eating? Why would pain get worse I night or is it just that I quiet down so I'm more sensitive to feeling a dull ache? D
