Dream State?

Post a new topicby lisa8 on Wed Aug 20, 2008 3:23 pm

Hi,

I don't even know that this would be the place to ask about this but here it goes... the last week I have been having dream-like "episodes". I know what's going on around me but everything feels like a dream and I get lightheaded. It lasts for short times tho' I can't really say how long. I am currently on the meds: Depakote(and trying to taper off) and Lyrica. When this happens I feel really paranoid and irriatable too. I have a Drs appt next Thursday but want to see if anyone else has had this happen.

I feel like I am losing my mind.

I want to invite you to read the posting I just put up moments after you did. It is similiar and I too, have an appt for later this week. When I was in this state, I knew what was going on around me but my thoughts were also of these "dreams." Do you have any history of seizures?

I read your post... the only thing I get with them is a lightheaded /headache. I have not been diagnosed with seizures before - then again I never really did anything about this until now because it is so bad. I do feel sluggish tho', but I attribute that to my Fibromyalagia.

Since I first posted earlier today I've had this continuously.

I've also recently been having similar spells like you both describe. I'll be going about my day and a single thought or something I see will trigger it. It's like I'm remembering a dream I've had in the past. I get a weird sensation on the back of my neck that runs up to the base of my skull. Usually after this occurs the "dream" feeling will stop. It can't last more than 30 seconds or a minute. Afterward I felt kind of loopy and can't always remember what was in the "dream" or what triggered it. Usually I'll be back to normal within minutes of it happening, but last night I had one that made me feel weird for about an hour after it happened. I'm going to the doctor next week to have it checked out. Oh, and when it happens, I'm still aware of what's going on around me. Also, the one last night left me with a headache on the front of my head.
