Did my bicycle seat do this??Hi everyone hopefully someone can help me! I am a 39yr old male active mt. biker for the last 3 years. About year and half ago began noticing more and more urination - especially when I ate spicy or starch heavy foods. I thought this was some dietary problem and even diabetes but tests were negative. Since I didn't have full medical coverage I opted to not see a urologist I self-checked my prostate and that seemed fine.
Then after a long ride I experienced my first painful urination a few months ago and realized that I had just a standard bike saddle and found out about urethral stricture! I heard old style bike saddles could cause infertility (I don't want kids so I ignored this) but am upset that I never heard about this condition. Anyway I got a new pressure free saddle and wondered should I spend the $ to see a urologist? How much would a urethroscope cost in America and would it be worth it? Will these conditions go away with a new saddle? Any advice would be appreciated thank you:)
