Jude, my mother was recently diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer which has spread to the lymph system and bones. She'll be on radiation therapy for another 2 weeks before starting chemo, which will include Avastin, Xeloda, and oxaliplatin. The doctor says it's incurable with a median survival period of 2 years, although individual cases vary 6 mos. to 5 years. I don't know if my mother has garden variety late-stage colon cancer. What resources would you recommend for me to learn more?
